Advanced bio-fuel car for the first time unveiled in Washington Auto Show 2010

In 1 month event featuring "change starts here" as the theme of the Washington Auto show, numerous Green cars exhibitors, with waste paper as raw materials for biofuel cars become the focus of this year's halls.

A research and development by Novozymes Enzyme mixtures of multiple (enzyme cocktail), can be used for the agricultural residues, municipal solid waste and energy crops as raw material, production of advanced biofuels. After pulping, pretreatment and cleaning, Novozymes and improved enzymes will waste paper and cardboard into sugar, then after fermentation to produce biofuels. As biofuel raw materials of waste paper samples are also on display at the auto show.

Hall, in a "Riden Drive" ("passenger and driver's license"), the Government dignitaries and media representatives at the Washington Convention Center test drive Chevy flexible fuel (flex-fuel) automobile-Chevrolet HHR. Hall, from a Ford flexibilities Ford fuel car F1 (Gallery Forum) 50 also participated in a one-week exhibition. Two biofuel cars are using E85 ethanol-gasoline (that is 85% ethanol and 15 percent gasoline blend as fuel).

Compared with gasoline, advanced biofuels can reduce up to 90 percent of CO2 emissions, is achieved in transportation CO2 emissions the most effective solution. In 2009, Novozymes advanced bio-technological applications in various sectors, the total reduction of approximately 27 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, the equivalent of 7 million cars a year by the carbon dioxide emissions.
